The other day my family bought a half gallon carton of ice cream. As soon as we were starting to serve it, my dad started ripping open the sides so he could cut it with a knife. For some reason this REALLY bothered me! Why did this strange serving method bug me so much?
The only thing I can really think of why this bothered me was because that is not the normal way most people serve ice cream. There is this great invention called an ice cream scoop where it gets the ice cream out. An ice cream scoop also makes this very tasty treat so perfectly pretty. It just seems so not "ice cream tradition" to ruin the box and cut it with a knife!
Also not just that it is tradition it is that once you are done with serving the ice cream, and you put it away, the ice cream will get ALL over the freezer! This is a mess that not many people want to clean up. Also once you get it out again it might melt again all over the counter and the floor. I am so clumsy and can't balance things very well that the ice left in the shredded box might slip out on the floor, wasting perfectly good ice cream! It will melt all over the floor, leaving the mess maker to clean it up. Only one type of person likes melting ice cream, the ones who melt it in the microwave. This leads me to another question, to answer some other time. Why do people even put ice cream in the microwave?

Gosh! I'd be bothered too! In fact I am! What a waste of the most delicious substance in the universe! Katrina I need to have a word with your dad sometime!
Cutting ice cream is only bad if it's vanilla ice cream. Now, if your dad starts cutting chocolate ice cream...
just kidding. You guys can eat ice cream any way you want.
