Picture NOT Perfect

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but when most girls see a picture of themselves, their thousand words consist of ugly, messy hair, not smiling enough, fly-aways, etc. (unless they are really cocky) So why do some people feel as though no picture will ever be good enough of them?

It seems as though a person's biggest critic is themselves. People are constantly saying they will never look how they want to look, they will never be skinny enough, they will never be pretty enough, and the list goes on and on. We see a picture in our head of what we think we look like, and they we look in the mirror and see something different then we have imagined. This can come from low self-esteem, or just trying to be TOO perfect. Then when we see a picture, it looks bad, because it doesn't end up looking like how we thought it would or should.

It seems as though girls have a bigger problem with picture then guys do. Guys it doesn't really matter what they look like as much as what girls look like. Society puts so much pressure the image of a girl that girls think of themselves ugly and not good enough for anybody. The images they see on TV, in magazines, and in the newspaper, make girls think that they SHOULD be perfect, when perfection is out of reach. Many girls even go bulimic and anorexic to try and have that "perfect" body shape. We need to realize that no one is perfect even those models out there that seem perfect. So next time we look in at a picture of ourselves, instead of saying how bad we look, find the positive.
